It is with great sadness that we must announce the forthcoming closure of Bread & Butter. It is one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, but due to many factors we are no longer able to sustain keeping B&B open, and have decided to close in the best interest of our family.

We would like to thank our dedicated staff for all of the hard work they have put into our helping us try to achieve our dream. We would have never made it this far without them. We would also like to express our warmest regards to our many loyal and appreciative customers. We have grown accustomed to seeing so many of your faces three or four times a week, if not every day. To you, we owe our deepest gratitude. And of course, we will always have the utmost respect for the various local farms and regional vendors that we have worked so closely with over the past three years. Lastly, we could not have done any of this without the untiring support from our family, who not only helped build the restaurant, but was there with us every step of the way, through thick and thin.

We wish the best of luck and fortune to whomever takes our space in the burgeoning Mill District, and we are sad to not continue to be a part of a beautifully growing community.

While we do not have an exact closing date, we are looking towards the end of January, or into February, giving our staff ample time to find other work, as we look for a possible buyer for the restaurant.

We are honored to have been given the chance to make our culinary mark on the Amherst area, and hope to continue to contribute to the local and regional food scene somewhere else down the road.

We look forward to sharing these last few weeks with the community, and going out strong, so please come by and grab some pork belly and waffles while you can!

Bread & Butter's staff holds close a commitment to quality that makes us stand out as one of the best restaurants in the area.  We approach breakfast and lunch from a stance that most restaurants reserve for dinner, preparing each and every dish fresh, to order.  Nearly every item on our menu is made from scratch, in-house, including all roasted meats and sausages, pork belly, lox, duck confit, pancakes & waffles, small-batch hollandaise, aiolis, chai, granola, chips, pickles, and more.   The menu offers a wide range of choices for every eater, from traditional staples such as Eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes, to chef specialties like duck confit hash, Liege-style waffles, and a multitude of pork belly options.  There are also plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians, and those with gluten sensitivities.

The lunch menu is available Monday through Friday, from 11-3.  We serve the best and most creative sandwiches around, featuring house-roasted meats and fresh local vegetables.  Our salad menu speaks for itself with a unique yet familiar selection.

The restaurant is also available most evenings for in-house catering, with custom inventive menus for any occasion, from cocktail parties and receptions to weddings, showers, and more.   Please contact us for more information and sample menus.
